Here is a letter from Taru Thompson - a former Saturday Leadership Academy Student.
Hello 100,
I know I've been out of touch for quite some time, but I was quite recently reminded by my mom that I should check-in.School is great. I like New York and I like St. John's. It was one of my better decisions to venture out of state for my college experience.
My major is Adolescent Education with a concentration in math so I'll either be teaching in a Middle or High School. I do a lot of community service in my spare time. Most involves working with my middle school children in math. My grades have been amazing exempting a summer class I took. Other than that class I've had A's, A-'s, and 1 B+. My cumulative GPA is 3.61.
This spring semester is particularly exciting because I'm studying abroad. I will be in Europe all semester staying in Spain, France, and Italy (5 weeks in each). I'm already packed and ready to go. I leave this Thursday. I come back in May and I'll be home for the summer. Then I'll be able to drop by for a Saturday or two. Hope all is well the program- mentors and mentees. Keep up the great work.
