Health & Wellness Programs PDF Print Email

Our Health and Wellness programs are designed to raise the awareness level about health care issues and how they impact the African American community. The chapter has a number of partnerships at the national as well as on the chapter level to help achieve its goals. Some of our local partnerships and programs include:

  • NBC 4 Health and Fitness Expo
  • Tommie Smith Track Meet
  • Youth Movement
  • The American Cancer Society
  • The Men's Health Network
  • The National Prostate Cancer Coalition
  • The D.C. Department of Health
  • Howard University Hospital and
  • Us Helping Us, People into Living, Inc.

With the help of our local partners, the chapter is able to go into the community and begin to dialog about health and health care with those that need it most. It also conducts health fairs and symposiums to talk about the issues that face the African American community.
